Review: Fablehaven

Author:   Brandon Mull
Series:   Fablehaven, book 1
Publication Date:  2006

Rating: Excellent

Summary:   Kendra and Seth are two ordinary kids who live normal lives. When an aunt dies and leaves money for all the adult relatives to go on a cruise, Kendra and her brother go their grandfather`s house. There Seth breaks all rules, and Kendra discovers a clue in an ancient diary. Soon, myth becomes reality and the kids realize just how special their grandparents are. But when an ancient monster is freed, can Kendra and Seth unite and save Fablehaven, or will darkness take over?
What I liked:  I personally loved this book. I liked the way the aouthor kept his audience on the edge of their seats with anticipation. However, I wish Brandon Mull could have finished up with a further explanation of Kendra`s ability to see the magical creatures. Over all, I can not wait for book 2 to come out!

Nothing will ever be the same for Eragn. Secrets are all around him, and he needs to know, r else he may not live to see another day.
What I liked:  Eragon is truly amazing. Christopher Paolini really did an amazing job creating Alegaisia. The only thing I did not like, was the fact that it ended so soon. I really hope Christopher Paolini comes out with a sequel soon!

Review: Alex Van Helsing- Vampire Rising

Author:   Jason Henderson

Series:    Alex Van Helsing, book 1

Publication Date:   2010

Rating: Amazing, must read

Summary: Alex Van Helsing is a normal boy, with astonishing abilities. Shortly after he moved to his new school, vampires target the students forcing him to join the Polidorium, a society hunting the vampire city of  Scholomance. Adventures await Alex in "Vampire Rising".
What I liked: Usually I do not like vampire books at all, but this was amazing. Alex's adventures capture you and will keep you on the end of your seat. The thrill of the hunt for the " Scholomance" and the rescue of Alex's friends balance out the vampire sections with action.
